The Power of Chawal-Masr

You guys I'm seriously... i think chawal-masr may be my favorite food of all time. Of course add a couple (6) chicken nuggets or kebabs and lemon. Dang nammit. Gentlemen! Behold! (Aqua Teen Hunger Force reference). Aliph pointed out so many times; his general wondering if people got my humor so I have decided to add references and footnotes in parenthesis. Sic. (this whole dialogue was although not fabricated but was actually a hit at your low intellect or lack of it thereof)

So i wrote this silly poem today:

Silly Poem

Do you think the clouds have faces?
Shaped like memories and roadsides you once walked by
They would then look down on these places
And wash the pain with water from the sky
Do you think you have won this skirmish?
The sun shone off your guile and caught my eye
I knew the shame in this summer would never finish
How when i would wake you, you'd start to cry

The counting backwards from 10 to one
The odds were stuck in our sides like a radio song
The chords of which are played for fun
But words of which like knives twist on and on

ANYWHO: The pin'ata of love overflows today. the goodie bag is bursting open. The num-nums have landed. You're ungrateful but i need you so i'll love you and i'll feed you. (Ramble sarcasm humor intended)

I have spent 2 years searching for this album (as a free ingratitude mp3 down of course). As an angst(pseudo) filled 18 year old I lufffffffed Tracy Bonham's The Burdens of Being Upright - I thought it was smashingly good. This third offering weds her velvety voice tone with beautiful acoustic melodies and lush orchestrations. Hubba hubba.

Blink the Brightest is the third album by American singer/songwriter Tracy Bonham. It was released on June 21, 2005.

The second offering holds the REM cover song Wall of Death which was one of the first songs I discovered the magic of harmonies and acuestick bliss (used to play it in 1997-1999 with Omer Waziri who incidentally moved to Australia and lost COMPLETE touch - if you read this Omer Waziri: GET THE F**K IN TOUCH).

Twisted Soliloquies

Enigmatic antagonist. Sociopathic wallflower. Discontent and the gummy remains of your chewed soul. Anti-heroes. The fog of war. The slim of your waste. The shape of your face. Low grade pyrotechnics in your quiver. The shiver in your arms. warmth of your legs. Dying by the sword. Living like a feather. Push the pedal. Pull the pin. Ambiguity trumps certainty.

And the pain of my absence; let it be balmed by the uncanny sense of humor. The excerpts from my ramblings today:

The Many Understated Simplex

The drudge of it all is way too deafening in its miniature silences to redefine the days. They are alien and primitive and new and pale and pixelated. When you add little crumbling mysteries that leave no answer behind - it becomes quite a biatch. No?

I have spent 2 days (separate days) reading up on the Sopranos finale. WTF? What actually happened? Where are the alternate endings? Why the hell won't Chase just come out and say it now... he's HAD his fun. He's had his extended 6 (7) season run as well. Gawd. Amongst the myriad of theories, I agree with various parts of most of them --- its a trickster.

I DID register the weird time cut as Tony enters Holsten's; looks at the seating area and then WHAM there he is already sitting there.

I did notice something about this shirt - as if he was wearing a different shirt.

I did notice the way that Tony, Carm and AJ ate their onion rings - one go, whole. (the wafer-communion theory)

Ofcourse I did notice all the weird suspicious people at Holsten's. I did notice the Members Only guy overshadow AJ as he came in; and everything he did after that - he caught Tony's eye 3 to 4 times easily and was always in AJ's backdrop.

I did recall when Bobby and Tony are talking about getting whacked in a previous episode and how they show a flashback of that in the previous episode - " You probably don't even hear it..."

My questions:

- Whats the purpose of Meadow not being able to get the parallel parking right - and her being hell-bent on getting it right, almost with anxiety on her face? (ALSO: As she runs in, didn't you think she was gonna get hit by that SUV - that freaked me out the most)

- Why is the Members Only guy so prominently present - only to add to the paranoia or to actually hit Tony?

- What the hell is up with the orange cat?

In the end; all I can say is... I guess... I CANT MAKE UP MY MIND. I DON'T KNOW. I deviate towards the open ended life goes on theory - and I would NOT mind a movie although its pretty much not going to happen in my opinion.

Here are a few of my favorite links though; I STRONGLY urge you to visit these - i.e. if you are a Soprano fan. If you're not - get the f**k off my blog. Go to Hall Road and buy all the seasons, spend a week watching them, come back here and yearn.

Cloud 6 Comedown

Once upon a time there was a little Umme. She was a cute little itty bitty birdie wirdie. One day she went to her Cha Cha's shaadee and was amazed and astonished when she saw the "dulhan". Then the dulhan came to live with them and she was even more astounded by this person: she doesn't have to do anything but look pretty, wear jewelery, lavish clothes and just be. She used to sneak inside her room and try on her jewelery and pick out clothes for her. It was all so surreal so she decided to do something about it. She had made up her little mind and she announced it out loud: As of this day my name is "DULHAN" and everyone better call me that. I think that time lasted for 2 years... she would only respond to Dulhan. If anyone would call her Umme, super sonic shreiks ensued and she'd say" CALL ME DULHAN. I'm DULHAN." It was fun and cute but got a little toooooo cute. One day her dad dantofied her and issued an embargo - no more dulhan. And the little funny bird knew it was fun no more... and became Umme again.

The End

IN OTHER NEWS:

Dashboard macked up with Juli to further coax me that Stolen should be played at my wedding. Furthermore: A new Dashboard Confessional song got leaked onto the net today. This is too tantalizing. New Rilo Kiley and Stereophonics is mine. Have to lend an ear to them soon enough. I shall post the Dashboard Confessional singles tomorrow along with some robotic chicken delights. The new Counting Crows is beckoning with a single available - Come Around. Good is.

Anywhoo... so thats the deal with all these mackies? Mackin' up my dvds all the time. If you are reading this.... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE... YOU KNOW WHO i'm TALKIN ABOUT. Stop taking all my DVDS!!!

According to Aliph; Imik's album is gay and according to me HE is gay. So thats that. We're thinking for a kool domain name for our Paki neo film noir horror disco romance film site - I suggested Intizaar Farmayey and Kaalee Pateeli. They were shrugged off... I dunno why... honestly. I also "cracked" the stage 6 divx site and am drowning in adult swim, robot chicken and aqua teen hunger force. YAY!

So my infidelic infidelities. Tee hee. I shall bring forth goodies tomorrow. Hark!

Wild Like Children...

Feral days. Its the end of August. And everything after... well, its everything isn't it? All that is left & nothing left behind. The end is the beginning is the end. And we will be wild like children...

Best.

So today, my fugly furry fiends, we have Let's Go Sailing's debut record The Chaos in Order.

"Let's go sailing is full of rainbows and fairies. But it also has a darker side...It is full of lost and neglected stuffed animals found at the side of the road."

In November of 2002, Shana Levy left indie pop outfit Irving to pursue Let's Go Sailing. She asked friends Tanya Haden, Nikki Monninger (Silversun Pickups), Brent Turner and Byron Reynolds to work on an album's worth of material and soon enough they began recording a demo with Chris Chandler (Flaming Lips/Modest Mouse/Elliott Smith) and Rod Cervera (The Rentals/Weezer). The recording process quickly gained momentum and, with the help of Chris and Jim Putnam (Radar Bros.), Shana decided to make a hi-fi record independently.

(from the band's official site)

Here is the record on a shimmery massmirror bed. Climb on, snuggle in and f*ck.

Runaround the Rabid Tree

Another day, another past. Eh, its getting better man? Today I bring forth one of the few albums that I have scathed and pined for. This proxy-ridden net-scape, it is such a whore. So why should YOU... the reader... the ungrateful pretty one have to suffer? No no...

So I suppose this is the part where I have to thank Asim. I mean SUUUUURREE I hunted through dark tumultuous fields of blogs and forums and deceit to find the links. But i DID paste them in his window. He DID download em and put em up on accessible hosts. Wait. Erm... wait... the sarcasm has been balanced by gratitude? What the deuce... thanks Asim. Feh.

Today's first (& only) orgasm is brought to you by none other than Holly McNarland. You might know her from her Late 90's hit Numb or excellent Phil Collins cover In The Air Tonight.

Holly McNarland (born 1975 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter. She is well-known for her introspective and emotional songwriting, and the combination of her diminutive height, strong, intense vocals, and tough-girl persona.

The Sentinels Sent A Letter

Many yellow days and many amber nights later, I have picked up the proverbial pen again. Watch the fuck out.

Besides sweeping by many important milestones and desecrating many relentless pie-suckers; I've been busy with two jobs, a looming (in a good way looming) marriage, catching up on shows and movies, the music of Trespassers William, Mark Lanegan, Ben Harper, Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos, Hem, Neko Case and the Perishers has been whispering early morning lullaby's to me. To all you prissy maybe sparrows, the wedding is on October 21st 22nd.

The second job is interesting, gets me in touch with the natural sensei spirit in me. That said, the next post shall hold a marvelous delight for all us from one of the hospital receptionists.

I spent the better part of my surf seeking day looking for Hem's Funnel Cloud today. Not a good thing when you yearn for something so bad. Every page has a good review, every page has a picture; but no zShare, no sendspace, no mediafire, no RAR NO FUN I SAY. So I give to you, my prettys, Hem's Funnel Cloud in all its multi orgasmic Sharebee glory. Thanks to Asim who put up with my relentless pushing the link-ness-ish-tude.

"...For the Brooklyn based Hem, what you initially hear is what you fall in love with—soft melodies, delicate instrumentals, and quiet, detailed musicianship that seems destined to be duplicated over a career..."

Funnel Cloud is the fourth album by folk rock band Hem. I Considered the band's most ambitious work to date, they recorded the album accompanied by a 21-piece orchestra, as well as James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins.

The concept was conceived on the day of lead singer Sally Ellyson's wedding, during which the party had to evacuate to storm cellars due to a number of tornadoes that touched down in the area.

1. "Almost Home"
2. "Barcarolle"

Last night I saw a Natalie Portman movie Goya's Ghosts. I seriously recommend this movie to any and all who like 19th century an 17th century movies set with the masteries of modern cinema. Natalie Portman in the last 3/4ths of the movie is ravishingly brilliant in her projection of a jaded, paranoid, tormented soul... I won't give away more.
